decoys

im wondering if i should not put as many decoys out for the beginning of second season or stick to the tactics i know. what do you think

I usually use a good sized spread for the first few weeks of the season. After that i'll cut the amount back a bit and place my decoys into groups of about 4-6. I hunt an area of big open water so i tend to use 4 dozen the 1st few week's then cut it back to about 2-2 1/2 dozen. Once we start getting the migrating birds in i'll pick the amount back up to 4-5 dozen. Once they get wise to decoys i'll shrink it down again. So it all comes down to the time of year & how the birds are reacting to the spread.
