I am not a big fan of the flappers or spinners, I prefer the good old fashion flag. Thanks for the report on them though.

I agree with you Gooser, not worth wasting your money on a flapper or spinning wing goose decoy, just a good old fashioned flag, you can even afford to buy a spare if it breaks! It's just another gimmick to make money. Now the motion bases on the other hand really do work to finish birds.

another good thing about the flag is it never runs out of batteries :D

True that! It cost a fortune in batteries anymore!

Flags are great peroid. They work most evrywhare.
But if you get the chance you should look at the 'Good Golly Goose".

I have a coupel, which by the way I DID NOT pay the advertised price for, or anything close to it. They are dynamite ! I've also had goo dluck with the flapper kit by DMB Blinds, installed on a GHG Active.

Your mileage may vary.

now the higdon flapper is the thing to have.unlike a flag u can wave the flapper when the geese r locked and coming down.

we hunted with a guy that had one this year, and it really worked, when the birds would swing wide, little clucking and flappin, and it pulled em right in, and the didnt seem as apprehensive about coming in

The hidgeon flapper works pretty well. We made a small motroized box that we sit between 2 flappers and they flap in intervals. The box is covered up in fast grass to coneal it. With the 2 flappers on each side of the box, it looks like a couple of geese sitting up to stretch their wings.
When we tested it and put it in diffrent parts of the spread to see if thats really what was drawing the late season birds, they almost always without fail went to the spot where the flappers were.
The only thing I would change would be putting the next one on a remote and using a little bit smaller battery.
I am not saying this is the answer to all but it definatley made a big diffrence with finishing tough birds. Like everything else the locals will get wise to it, if used too often.
