Hey there fellow waterfowlers and thesbians. For those of you who have already heard enough of me regarding the SMH verses the Meatgrinder I hereby apologize. I'm not a Foiles employee; therefore, I'm receiving no compensation whatsoever for saying this, but, for those of you who are contemplating an SMH purchase, I'm here to tell you that this call "rocks".
I started out with an MG, along with Jeff's "Calling Geese 2.0" DVD (which made all the difference), and felt that I was able to make that call speak Canada goose quite fluently. Needless to say, the idea of owning an SMH (being a gear-queer and all) really began to eat at me. My frugal "meat hunter" buddies told me all I need is the MG, and to spend my money on other things like more goose blocks.
Well I bought an SMH and, at first, felt I spent $150 on a call that sounds no better than the $60 Meatgrinder; nevertheless, I was still happy with it because it's a cool call, aesthetically speaking. I have been blowing this thing like crazy, in my car, and while training Scout, for about two months. During this second month I have discovered this call to be far more versital than the MG in terms of highs and lows. This thing is so easy to blow now I can't beieve it. This is going to sound crazy, but I often can't wait to get to my car in order to have a session with this call.
I highly reccommend Jeff's "Calling Geese, 2.0" DVD. That made all the difference.
This is the first time in my life where I can't wait tfor spring and summer to blow right by so we can get back into the blind where we all belong.
Anyone else out there feel this same pain?
