does any one else have problems with there dmm locking up after being submerged under water? it works fine if you get the water out of the reeds but wont make a sound if sokeing wet. it is a double reed. i have 20-30 dollar calls that will blow under water if you needed too. i am fairly dissapointed in my dmm. the reeds are all pointed up and there is a dimple between the reeds. any help would be appreachated.

Um im not trying to be a smart ass but why are you trying to blow your call under water? I dont understand what you are wanting help with. every call stickes ever once in a whyle. The reeds sound like they are right. I would say just get the water/spit out of you call every once in a whyle by blowing the call backwards that should get the water out.Good luck with the call they are one of the best calls out....and just remember to hold your breath under water.

After it's been completely submerged you may need to take it all the way apart and dry every piece. I alwasy carry a couple pipe cleaners & a small rag to dry everything off with. Tkae the reeds out, dry them one at a time, the wedge, tone board, use the pipe cleaners to clean out the inside of the insert. The run that rug through the barrel and dry it out. Slap it all back together and your good to go.
As far as the cheap calls working wet. If you look at the reeds on those calls you'll notice how much longer, thicker, & wider the reed's are. That prevents them from sticking as bad. That's also the reason you cant do as much with them as you can the DMM. Unless you have superhuman lungs.

I understand! You shouldn't blow them under water firstly because you may drown yourself and secondly the ducks can't hear it under water so why test it under water? J/K Well from my experience I have never had a call not stick whether it be any cheap call or the all mighty Foiles. Under the right conditions they all stick. I would suggest just keeping them clean and I have also heard that rain ex works but I haven't tried it myself. Hope that helps!

Sometimes, if you hunt with 4 or 5 calls just for sound change like I have at the start of the season, as it gets colder in late nov,dec you need to pic 0ne call that you can keep warm and baby. The calls that hang out in the cold for a wile with moisture in them need to be doller billed between flights. To me thats time you should be looking at the sky. :D
