does anyone know the rule on public lake blinds? where i hunt there are 2 blinds 100 yards away from each other, there permenant and there on the side of the lake were most of the ducks are. Ive been inside one of them just to see it and it has the guys name and number and where he lives. the two blinds screw everyone else that want to hunt there, ive been the first one at the lake many times and i'll set up where i want cause i dont think its right for these 2 guys that have permenant blinds should be able to think they can show up when ever they want and start hunting, its first come first serve to me iam the one thats on the road at 2am to be the first one out there . And i was woundering could i use the blind sense it is on public water and it is where everyone who would see the lake would set up their spread at. if anyone knows the rule please let me know

Yes, in California you can use the blind. I dont see why your state would be any different. I built a blind myself and i know that if someone beats e to it that i will have to find another spot to hunt. It's first come fisrt serve. Of course i (like you) get there before everyone else does so i dont loose my spot. I'd hunt out of it if i were you. That's why it's there.

In Ohio you're not supposed to build permanent blinds on public land unless you have a permit. So I'd check your laws and if they state no permanent blinds, feel free to hunt them...I would.

Here in MN... if someone built a blind, left a tree stand up or anything like that.... if you get there before anyone else does....you are in the right to be there. Regardless if the guy has his name, phone, addy and a picture of him on it. It becomes fair game on public property, especially state owned public property.

mike, are you talking about bass lake? cause i hunt there quite a bit and theres 2 permanent blinds out there. anyway i talked to a C.O about hunting it, he said if there a name on it its their property but if they are not there u can hunt it! we have been lucky enough to not run into anyone out there yet though, so im not sure what would be said if i was set up 1st, i would probably tell them to just set their decoys next t ours and just hunt with us, unless they are pissed off about it! then i would just let them hunt the blind and sit right next to them!!
