In 2003 there were 196,165,667 Licensed drivers in the U.S.
If you take that statistic and figure that everyone had a 20 gallon tank and the gas price was even across the board at $3/gal.
The cost would be $11,769,940,020. In one day of every one of those drivers filled up on the same day.
Now the number of drivers has obviously increased. But, if everyone didn't buy gas for one day, it would actually cost the gas company to take a loss in profit. Enron made over 8 BILLION dollars just this first quarter. Maybe we should do that. Let them know how it feels to have to loose money to buying gas and not have the m oney to buy toys... dekes, guns, boats you get the picture... just so we can get to work, and they are making a killing off of us.
Sorry I got board, and a little pissy....LOL

I AGREE!
I just filled my truck yesturday and It cost $49.93 to fill it up. Gas prices are not only effecting you personal driving but it also affects the protection for your community. If gas prices go up so will the cost of living, it is horrible that you have to work for 1-2 days just to be able to pay for the gas to get to the other 5-6 days of work. Our Fire Department more or less got told last week to stop driving around so much because our gas budget (city wide) is too high. Now explain that to me when they start tellling People to stop doing their jobs because gas is too HIGH! Our department does alot or PR and other fire prevention events trought the day, our EMS department has to have the truck running if it isnt plugged in just to keep the drugs at proper temps, and most of our Police units run 24/7 365. All that adds up to a big gas bill and that is just three deparments in our city.
What would happen to prices if we all just stopped buyin gas, well the gas companies will be screwed. The way they think is that people "have" to have gas so why not make prices go up because they "have" to drive.
There is soo much more that I could add!

I'm buying a $4000 bullet bike this weekend. With the payment and insurance I will still be saving over $100 a month in gas. Pretty sad when it's cheaper to buy a second vehicle than to buy gas for the first one.

If you ran your Silverado totally empty, it would cost you way more than a tnk of gas. You'd be replacing your fuel pump too. You run a Chev out of fuel, especially a newer one. I've been ridding my bike as much as possible.
