Sportsmans Warehouse does it again!! I purchased a new call for my son on the 24th and my son lost the reed to it allready. I called sportsmans and they said I had to contact the maker of the call. They wouldn't even offer to help out any at all. I am really getting dissapointed with them dumb asses!

In our area (metro Minneapolis) The Zink staffer hides all of the Foiles replacement stuff to create this kind of mess.
They do carry the replacement reeds.

True, they didn't lose the reed. But they ARE THE DUMB ASSES that didn't offer any help. Regardless of who lost the reed they could at least offer some help. They didn't even offer a number to call. NOW THATS CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE!

Very few of the large chain stores carry replacement parts for calls or anything else they carry for that matter. They arent in the business of repairing things, they sell them. Go to Walmart and find a replacement part for a bike you bought your kid...good luck.
What they told you to do was the correct information, you know who made the call so I dont know what more they could have told you to help you out.
Not trying to be mean or anything but you need to have a reasonable perception of their responsibility to you as a customer. They didnt sell you a faulty call, your son lost part of it and they didnt have the part to replace it.
I've only ever been in one store that carried foiles reeds...and they were in a little baggy hanging on a hook......it makes it real nice to just run and get one if need be, because I can't afford to buy a dozen at a time or something, why not throw some on a hook or in the display case where the calls are behind glass?
Jody, a good percentage of the stores hire people that are only slightly versed in there job. True its frustrating when that happens, but if its one of our calls you know where to find the number. This happens in all stores not just certain ones, I see it all the time...

Because in all reality they would sit there forever and never sell. Thats several more items they have to inventory and track and chances are they wouldnt ever sell them.

I went into scheels because i cracked my reed on my smh and they said i could use a zink reed cuz its the same exact thing, what does everyone else think? they said the reed and guts from a foiles sis the same as a zink i didn't believe this b/c they're 2 different manufacturer's...

Ya, they fit. I think theres only 2 different bore diameters between all of the short reeds. Clucker style and Victoria style. I could be wrong...

Go to a fabric store, and purchase a piece of mylar, you will be able to cut more reed than you will use in a life time, at a fraction of the price like $4.00 for a piece 12"by12" then call foiles up and get some spare wedges, problem fixed,
PS you should always carry a spare call just incase something happens so you can still hunt.

one of the calls i bought on here in the yard sale needed new cork when i recieved it. i didn't want to have a 3 dollar item shipped from the shop, so i went to sportsman's too...to only find green guts replacement systems. they did have sets for RNT, but i was like you. i didn't know if they would fit the same way. is there some difference in the tone of the call by using another manufacturers reeds and cork? may be a dumb question to some, but i don't know anything about mylar.

Hmmm. You cant even spell "thinning" and you're calling me the dumb ass. You shouldn't call people names. It's not a nice thing to do.
Kelly, can you yell at him or ban him or something for bashing me. I didn't even do anything wrong and he offered a verbal insult to me.

I didn't insult him. I just said the people at SW didn't lose the reed. There was no direct name calling.

Ain't got a dog in the fight, but you felelrs need to quitcherbitchin and go kill sumthin'.
A guy with 300 posts on the board knows pretty well what to do to get a new reed...I get it's just venting about SW, but to complain about them not giving you a phone number when you've been here as long as you have is just whining, plain and simple. - you know the phone number...
I also get that losing a reed the day before Xmas would pi$$ a guy off and disappoint a kid, but it really wasn't SW's fault. Could they have gone out of their way a bit more to have helped - you bet. Or, Jody could have taken a reed out of one of his other calls - either way it wasn't really an emergency or a problem that couldn't have been overcome pretty easily...
Next time you go to a show or place an order get 5 reeds - you'll have one when ya need it...

by the way, you calling my kid a dumb ass! I am more than sure he can whip your ass, and if he can't you would know you were in one hell of a fight. He rides bulls for fun, and he sure wouldn't mind tangling with your sorry ass. Now go back and read the post again! I said that I didn't like the way he told me to call the maker of the call. He did not even offer a number or any help. I am in sales myself, and I sure wouldn't treat someone who just purchased something from me that way. And as for buying a bike at wal mart, hell they would just replace it if it breaks! ! Sportsmans here in Idaho need to hire people that have some knowledge of the products. If a guy calls with a problem take a little time and help him along. If they can't help you, then give you a number to call. At least offer up some help. Just don't get rude and tell a customer to go call the maker of what ever product you just bought. That would be like buying a new Ford and having something go wrong with it. Call your salesman and he tells you to call Ford!!!! I do have a new reed on order. All I was venting about is the way there salesman presented himself and the problem. He could have been alot more friendly about it. Sorry we do not carry reeds, what you need to do is call the manufacturer of the call. Hold for a moment please and let me get you the number. All the salesman had to do was look on the box of a new call. I did make the call and got a new one coming. But I guess when a guy gets paid what they do that is what you get.

Put your small internet cock back in your pants. Neither you or your boy is whipping anyones ass. I know it's the internet and you can hide behind your computer screen and talk **** all day but seriously, you dont know who I am. Maybe your boy would try to mount me and ride me like a bull. Or maybe Id choke his reed loosing ass right out.

You are incorrect. If you bought a Ford from some on the corner car lot, they'd more than likely tell you to call Ford about warranty work. If you bought the Ford FROM Ford, they would handle your situation. Just like say, buying a Foiles call from SW, or Gander Mtn, etc... instead of buying it directly from Foiles Migrators Inc. Either way, you should go to Foiles for parts, tuning, etc. I know I wouldn't let the people that work at local outdoor stores recommend anything to me by ways of calls, ammo, decoys, etc. Maybe your sales guys have more knowledge about the gear but still.
Point is, if you buy a Ford dont call Chevy for warranty work. If you buy a SMH, dont call Sportsman's Warehouse for help.
