you'd prolly be better off emailing Tim Grounds, rather then asking this question of a foiles migrators forum.
You don't have to buy the triple crown guts, you can run the reg. grounds guts in them. Call em up and they'll send em out to you, or you can send your call into them.

How do you like the triple crown compared to the showtime or smh?

The Triple Crown is for the more advanced callers, it takes alot of air but once you get over that its awsome, really goosey and great comp call.

The triple crown is most known for its "Broke in Guts". The guts they come with are really what make the call what it is!! I run triple crown guts in my pro super mag and it sounds great. Stick to the triple crown guts!!

what is the difference between the super mag and the triple crown besides the guts?

I think your talking about the pro supermag. The super mag has a shorter insert than the pro super mag. And the pro supermag and the triple are almost exactly the same exept the triple crown has Kelly's "broken in guts" , the insert is bored out more and it has different engraving. Most of the ones ive seen have the reeds tiped up to. Thats just the things ive noticed.

how much different is the triple crown to blow from the hph?

A LOT harder!! It takes alot more air and you have to disperse it perfectly!! It took me about 2 months to finally get the hang of blowing it. When i first got it, ide be done calling but needed an oxygen tank. The call sounds great......just takes time and a lot of patience!! My .02

is the Pro Super Mag with its original guts that much harder to work than a SMH (i.e. use of backpressure and amount of air)? i had been checking them out and haven't had a chance to blow one yet

NO....the pro super mag with its original guts aint that much harder. The only reason the triple crown guts are so hard i think is because the reeds are bent up on the tip. But ya, the pro super mag with no modifications isnt too much harder then the SMH. Well they arent hard anyways for me but i dont know how advanced ya are. But ya if you blow a SMH fine then you should blow the pro super mag fine. But i would recommend not buying the pro super mag unless you plan on putting the triple crown guts in it. My first love.....so to say.....was tim grounds calls. This was before i ever heard of foiles. Then i bought me a SMH and sold my three pro super mags. The only thing i can say is that my pro super mag with triple crown guts sounds better then the triple crown call itself!! Go with the SMH and stick with it untill you have mastered it to the full. Then go to the Pro Super Mag with triple crown guts and youll have the best goose call arsenal out there!!, in my opinion. And i have owned just about every goose call on the market and found they are the best two. But remember some calls fit people better then the others, so do what i did, buy them all and blow them. Sell the ones that dont fit you right, and then you have your favorite calls that will help get you your limit each year!! Sorry its so long but i just feel its an important process, and i hope to shorten the time it takes ya'll to find the calls fit for ya!!! :)

i use a SMH and a Money Maker all the time in the field and I had a Showtime that I just got rid of a while back. I would call my calling skills pretty good but not great. I had just been told by several people that I needed to check out a Grounds Super Mag or Pro Super Mag because it was an awesome call. I love the calls I have but I'm always looking to add some new ones to the arsenal and give new calls a try. thanks for the input

evan, i was at the cabelas last weekend and blew one of the triple crowns and a pro super mag, there is not that much difference in them, i could work them better than my smh and my hph, so im looking for a grounds call, they were more goosey than the foiles, the foiles has a higher pitched "migrator" sound, i have been blowing all kinds of different calls and so far the tc fits my style the best.these foiles calls have a faster pace to them and i know we were talking about the fat tounge issue with duck calls and the tc just fits me and my fat tounge. any body have one for sale?
