The HPH was co developed with the guys from still water outfitters. They are all stillwater editions to the best of my knowledge. Mine is just a bit higher pitched and faster tham my SMH. Hope that helps.

For starters...the shapes are different. The SMH has the Foiles patented flare at the end of the insert while the HPH has a tapered flare to it. The barrel on the SMH is again the Foiles "standard" shape with a sharp line to it while the HPH has a more rounded shape to it. Both calls are great all around calls...have volume, good top end, good low end goosiness, and are pretty responsive to the caller. I believe (I have not actually measured) that the barrel on the HPH is smaller in diameter than the SMH, but the bore is larger in diameter than the SMH. When comparing the sounds...a lot of it is the way the call is tuned, but I feel I can get better low end moans and murmurs out of the HPH than the SMH, but overall, both calls will definitely get the job done.
As for the Stillwater Edition....well, as stated above, the call was based off a call designed by Stillwater Outfitters. Jeff teamed up with them, made some adjustments, threw in some green guts and viola...the HPH.

Since I posted on this earlier, I played around with the tuning on my HPH, and It is getting deeper, and the growls are awsome. I like the low end, deeper sounds, and after playing with the tuning, the HPH can definately make them.

I love my SMH and I can't imagine a different go to call in my future, but I am really liking the HPH, I likethe different sound I get from it. I like to be able to change things up some in the blind, and that is the reason I would recommend you add an HPH to the arsenal.

I would definately add the HPH to your lanyard. I have the HPH, SMH, and the MH and the more I used the HPH the more I liked it better than the others. When I get on it, it seems to be able to produce faster and more clear clucks and moans than the others. Get it, you'll really like it.
