I'm thinking on ordering a TR this weekend. Should I get the single or double? If I get the double can I take one reed out and have the single?

I'm not a prostaffer but........I prefer the double reed for hunting just because they are usually more ducky and are alot quieter which is perfesct for the area I hunt. It all depends on the area you hunt...I don't think you'll be able to just take a reed out because the wedge is just thick enough to hold both reeds, but when you take one away it would cause it to have a gap. You'd have to buy another reed set in double or single...this should cost you around $3 plus shipping I think.

I just took the reed out of my double reed and used the same wedge and haven't had a problem with it moving around.

not staff , but if it helps the double is louder then any wood call i own, and gets almost as low, being as versital as the dr is i personally would get the double. plus it is so raspy ! and realistic !

Thanks guys, double read ordered, can't wait till it gets here to start blowing on it! I've bought several calls over the last few years from other people and they never are raspy enough. This is my first acylic call. Hope its worth the money.
