Hey guys i've never competed before and i was just wondering how you practice? Like how long and how often. I use a timer and a recorder but most voice recorders are very low quality so i was just wondering what you all do?

Mike,
For me I guess when I am getting on it for a contest, I will blow anywhere from 10-15 a day. I will record (Digital Recorder, not bad, but it does the trick) maybe every three, but definitely don't start recording til you blow a few to get yourself warmed up.
When I am just practicing to practice, and I am working on something, say for example for transitions in my greeters, I will get in my truck and drive the 35 minutes to work and blow nothing but that sequence for 10-20 minutes. Or I will just break down my routine into sections of the routine and just blow them to keep on top of things as well. Hope this helps, if you have any more questions, post up and we will get them answered.

I try to practice about 15-20 minutes a day. I usually don't blow alot of full routines, instead i will practice different segments of my routine and i like to end by blowing a full routine. Usually about a week before a contest i will try to blow 3 or 4 routines a day. Taping yourself is one the best ways to practice. Migrator00 and myself, while practicing for the two man last weekend, found out that using the mic and sound recorder on the computer works really good. you can save your files, and play them back at any point in the routine instead of having to rewind and fastforward. Hope this helps.
