Hey I just got a Meatcutter Flute a couple of days ago and already have it down. I have noticed that the birds we have been hunting are a little shy. I have been using my SMH to reach out and grab um and when they get close enough I have reached for my Meatcutter to finish them. They really eat up that SMH and Meatcutter combo. I dont know why the birds are acting so goofy but I think these birds are call shy now and need the essentials of goose calling to kill these birds.

How have the birds in your area reacted to your calling and what have you done to change it up a little?

Thanks iawaterfowler88 for callin with me on our hunts. Once we get Killer Miller back the three of us should be able to talk um into givin up.. Also Thanks goes to Killer Miller, Kingkilla, iawaterfowler88, and Jclasen0124 for letting me hunt with you guys, I look foreward to hunting with you boys more in the future.

Well derek, my uncle is quite the caller on his SMH and i'm pretty good on mine too. His has a really deep tone like an older goose and mine is higher pitched and sounds like a younger bird. With my dad and another guy flagging, we have been able to work several descent sized flocks right into our laps. I think the combo of my uncle's deeper call and my higher call, it gives an illusion of young and old birds feeding on the ground, which I think makes landing more appealing to approaching birds. Ready to whack 'em and stack 'em Thursday morning Derek!?!?!?

I also think the flaggin has been helping alot too. Just dont flag them after they're within 100 or 150 yards.

I have been ready for a week now!!!! Al has been usin my flag and it has really helped turn those birds towards us. My SMH is high pitched to but every SMH sounds different I think.

dont worry boys, once i get that Diamondwood/acrlyic SMH and learn to blow that sucker, its game over for the geese. We'd have a good varity of callers, and King Killa on the flag, enough said. It is a pleasure to hunt with you Iowamigr8tor! And am looking forward to stackin more birds with you next year!
