I was happily smacking some mallards this morning, had 6 and things were looking very promising for a real good hunt when 5 mallards pitched in to a pond not more than 100 yards away.Went to sneak in on them when from the pond there was a shot got such a fright just about had a heart attack.Dont know when he got there but he parked beside my truck thought he would make some noise to let me know he was there.Got my arse out of there as quick as i could.

Did you recognize the vehicle, somebody you know. To sneak into the same hole an d not let you know he is their until he shoots, that is uncool, lucky somebody didn't get shot accidently. Glad to hear you are o.k. Better luck next time.

Sounds like a good way for someone to get shot. Alot of times I think people just don't think about how dangerous they can be. Glad to hear you, made it out O.k.

Not any real problems with the antis.Had a old friend get shot at on purpose one day by this neighbours when he was picking up a duck ,they were older guys who are well known hunters and were druck.Lots of drinking goes on during the season.Lots of guys just go out for that reason.

I have heard stories, I have a couple of buddies from their, who whete both NZ SAS, and to hear them it sounds like drinking is national past time  Have a good season down their, and keep us all posted, we are all living vicariously through you, untill our seasons open up.
