Mike,

First off, what are you hunting over? Water, field, combination of both. What is the food source? Do your scouting, see what they are eating. Where are they roosting? What fields are they using. See how big the flocks are and try to mimic that. Typical DE early season you don't need a big spread. The geese are not too shy yet. Good luck. Just curious, where are you planning on guiding? Above all have fun with it, early season helps get the kinks out.

I agree with marshblaster, I don't know how Deleware is but the local birds we hunt here in the early season are pretty smart when it comes to knowing the area, definately scout them out and try to figure out how big the groups are, if they are hanging out in groups of 10-20 and you put out 100-200 decoys, they are going to know that something is fishy. Also make sure to hide your blinds well the local birds know the areas well usually and can spot suspicious mounds in the fields pretty easily. Good luck. How many members in your party and are they new hunters or experienced guys?

I agree with the other guys , the only thing i could add, is be very friendly and talk a lot and cut up with your clients, Guiding is more than just calling and shooting, I have been on both sides of the fence , guiding and pay hunting, i once hunted with a kid that was our guide , Long story short he couldn't call very well and had never killed a goose, but he did everything he could to make sure we had a good hunt, I actually think the outfitter more or less had him there to clean frost off decoys, We ended up having a good hunt, and tipped him well, Not for what he did but for what he tried to do, Just do the best you can , and make sure everyone has fun Good luck hope you guys have a great season.

Do your scouting. Location is everything! Also remember you are hunting young birds that have never seen a decoy or heard a call. They are usually still pretty tight in there family groups then as well. Early on it should only take four dozen or less decoys to do the job. They might have mom and dad to lead them around still, so remember to shoot that lead bird first. This could give you the chance to clean up on the lucky ones that made it through the first volly. With young birds loose the lead bird there is always a chance to call them back for another go.
