I tell you what, there is a thread in General Discussion, from around March talking about patternmaster choke tubes vs. Wad wizard, It was a long drawn out discussion. I'm sure all the info you need will be on that thread. They both are basically the same design idea, where they restrict the wad, so it doesn't disturb the pattern of the shot. I would say that all the Foiles guys would attest to the patternmasters, Foiles is sponsored by them I believe, and they are great. I think the wad wizard is probably just as good, so either way you're good. Maybe the price will be the factor. You'll have to pattern your gun with different shot to see which one best suits your gun with your new choke tube. Good luck

I believe all the PM are ported except the close range tube.

i think u might be able to get them unported actually. i was lookin at them on the website last night and when u go to order them you can select color and ported or unported. im goin with a ported one for my sx2 got a local dealer who can get me a good deal on them. i dont think you could go wrong with either a wadwizard or a pm i guess its just which ever one u like better.

I picked up a PM a few weeks ago, and so far I can't complain. I have shot nearly 300 rounds through it. Trap and sporting clays, and I have to say, the birds will be in trouble this year. I have shot good with out it, but I have noticed a difference in the quality of the hits. More powdered birds. I can't say I know anyone that is shooting a WW. So I can't tell the difference between the two.

In our test results for 2 seasons,we have pattern them with alot of loads and the PM does not seem to like fast steel of 1500fps and faster so we have opted for other chokes, but i am sure you may like them for win. supremes as they pattern pretty good with that shell and velocity.

What do you feel is a better choke? At the moment what are you using as in choke/gun/shell combination if you don't mind me asking. Did you happen to pattern challenger loads or federal loads with the pm? If so how did that work out?

Right now for fast steel loads of 1550fps and faster handloads we use Terror chokes and extended steel extra full hastings chokes, with certain ammo, fps and depending on which constriction of terror choke we can keep it at 72 percent to 86 percent patterns to 42 yards.

The faster new federal loads of 1550 still did not do well in the PM tubes.Only Challenger loads i have shot is the trap lead loads as they are very cheap here to purchase and can be reloaded for 2 3/4 steel loads for early season ducks.

We use these tubes in SBE,Nova,Beretta 390

We will be doing some other test in a few weeks with another PM tube in a superx-2 and trying some trulock choke tubes.

My personal gun and loads are either a Nova with the Hastings Extended Extra Full Steel choke, shooting Kent 1 1/8oz. 3 inch #2 or #3 for ducks or Kent 1 3/8oz 3 1/2 inch BBs for geese or some handloads of 2 3/4 Bs

I am getting ready to work up some results for my other 2 guns i use which is the Baikal MP-153 and a Winchester 1300.Will post em up in a few weeks as i will be on call for the next 10 days at work :x

"Philly" on here was in SoDak this spring with his SX2 with a PM choke, and had absolutely no problems with it. He was shooting Kent 3 1/2" 2's. Good load, and it seemed to pattern just fine for him. He shot plenty of birds, and no cripples that I was informed of.
