Hail call help.

I just got into calling and i had a question about hailing. Do most guys seperate the notes with the tip of the tongue or the middle? And about how many notes is your hail call and comeback call?

I cut mine with the tip of my tounge. That's just the way i've always called. I do the same a lot of the time on my goose call as well.

As far as notes, i dont comp call, so it really just depends on the distance and size of the group of birds (hail call). The farther they are the longer & fewer notes, & visa versa.

The comeback is usually 5-7 notes for me & i'll throw in a few bouncing hen's at the end.
