As some may have heard they are going to take this past seasons results and this up comin years bird kill count to decide wither or not to tap into or put corn oil on resident bird eggs to keep the number of local geese down.

I feel if they left the early season limit to 8 each and changed the regular season from 3ea to 5 or 6. and have a longer season that this would solve the problem. And they would not be spending a **** load of money on something that can be solved by letting hunters harvest more birds!

Want a larger limit on geese or ducks during the regular season or longer hunting dates knows you chance to speak up!!!

its a pain in the butt cleaning birds at the current limits now. having the limits raised up more would mean too much cleaning, too much eating, too much money spent on shells, and too much bird education.

Just because they raise the limit doesn't mean you have to shoot all the birds. You can shoot however many you want to shoot.

the thing that sucks about having a 2 or 3 bird limit is shootin ur limit with in 10 - 15 min after all that work setting up decoys sometimes. I like to hunt longer then it takes me to set up!!!!

I hope everyone has done so or plans on making suggestions for the upcoming season dates. If you havent or dont plan on it you should, because we potentially could be missing out on a big oppurtunity to kill more birds this year. Granted the purpose for the input is primarily for the dates of the season, but we can also make clear our suggestions for bag limits, its hard to believe they would completely disregard all suggestions as far as bag limits if they have to acknowledge our date suggestions to begin with. More so considering the states situation regarding canada geese. Even if they didnt pay any attention to that, its important to partake because season dates can also have indirect affects on bag limits. making it most important for all of us to do this is the fact that the state is fooling around with the idea of killing off resident birds by means of crushing eggs within the nests, and spreading corn oil over the eggs. Come on, I mean I know I said it before but Ill say it again raise the early goose season limits(which was put in place to kill resident birds to begin with), and let us hunters kill the birds instead of utilizing state funds to do it. I would have to believe that it would benefit both parties, we get to kill more birds, and the state expends less money and potentially makes some considering ny license sales are way down. so guys let em here it. thanks mike for the post.

I just wish that more NY water fowlers knew how serious this is! Its going to cost the state so much money to do what us hunters live for! This is a rare opportunity to speak up and have your opinion actually effect the state huntin seasons. Im havein everyone I know call up and suggest bigger bag limits and longer seasons! Its worth a try! I would personaly love to see a season RIGHT NOW!!!! there have been geese all over the place just as much if not more so then the fall. southern NY just had a 10 day season they should give the central/northern a shot at them!!!

what does the corn oil do? make the geese not want to sit on the eggs? deteriorate the eggshell?

corn oil is used to significantly reduce the potential for an egg to hatch, heres a link,

its an old one, but informative

i here you guys the birds around here are packed right tight, it makes you wonder why they are thinking about pulling this BS, because we could be killing a lot of birds for them at no charge
