Hey guys, would Bad Grammar be the best option for a call DVD that has the terminology for the different call methods on it? I make most of the sounds I hear geese do in hunting situations, but get stumped when I start hearing guys talking about rolling clucks, trains, and spit cals.

Thanks.

I think it is a great DVD but on this site you will get responses similar to it is "BAD ADVISE"....

Scotty knows what he is talking about...

I was just checking out my FS4 dvd... If I were Jeff, I would have bit my tongue and let it slide by the wayside...

Why not?? Isn't this why people who hate Jeff come to this forum? Bad Grammar is a very good instructional in my opinion...but better for the more advanced notes. I think there are other just as good instructionals out there for beginners.

i agree with you 100%...its just that every time someone starts talking about Bad Grammar it explodes into 8 pages of fun....

i'm gonna go on record now and say that I learned all the basics from Callin Geese 2.0 and Bad Grammar helped w/ the notes that Callin Geese didn't cover...i love both of them, and its hard to argue that Bad Grammar isn't a good instructional....just my $.02

Well, I will respectfully withdraw the question if it only going to precipitate a flame-war - I know this is a Foiles site, but I did not know it was limited to discussing only Jeff's merchandise...there are enough calls for sale from other makers in the yard sale, so I didn't think it was an issue - and no, I didn't do a search, so this was entirely unintentional on my part. This was meant as no slight whatsoever to Jeff and staff - after all, I will be using said DVD to improve my use of my Straight Meat Honker, which, as I recall, is made by Jeff and staff...

My problem is the Ancient Art vid I got with the Paralyzer I traded off seems to have little of the info I want - it was based primarily on using the Paralyzer itself, and less on the overall art of calling. I asked about BG because I am no more interested in a vid specifically aimed at teaching me to use a SMH than I am in the vid I had about calling on the SR-1, so once again, please excuse the question if it is rubbing salt in old wounds. I am not insinuating that one maker is putting out better instructional footage - I don't want it for practice, I want it so I know what a certain noise I make on my call is called so when someone discusses or asks about it, I can at least make the connection...a goose sound thesaurus, so to speak...

It's not a bad question...it will probably bring some entertainment later. But if you already know the basics you'll definitely learn a lot from bad grammar. Hell if you can you should listen to as many different instructionals out there. You will learn something from everybody most likely.

It is a great buy. The tuning section is worth 20 bucks, in my opinion.

i didn't meant to make it sound like its a bad question because lik Rush said, its not....i love Foiles calls, but I love Bad Grammar too, I got my $20 worth just after watchin Scott teach how to better your hands...if you are even thinking about getting it, i highly recommend you do, its a great learning tool

bad advice.. Beyond a great caller, hes a world champion. that instructional is one of the, if not the, best all-round instructionals out there.

Calling Ducks has a lot of good info and aBAD GRAMMARa the CD was great. I plan to pick up the DVD soon. I hear it is even better. I doubled the sounds I can do on a SR the first day I had the CD. I think it is a must have to go beyond basic calling.

Scott does all the basic notes too. He just does a lot of the other more advanced notes which really makes the disc worth buying.
