At this particular little waterhole....well, reward bands are as common as pennies on the ground. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. Problem is..as always...these "bands" seem to disappear when season rolls around!!!

You can hit this spot just about anytime of year and there will be hundreds of ducks and geese...with a good 30% or higher having bands of some sort...regular leg iron, reward bands, tarsus bands, collars, etc.

We can hunt that if you haul your butt back up here!!! We can only hunt it certain times of year though brother!!!!!!! You need to plan ahead of time and you need to decide if you want hunt quacks or honks too...seasons vary more than normal in that area!

If I got a hold of those birds this time of year with little cracked corn, there would be a lot of tan lines needing to be taken care of on those birds.

The problem is...where these pics were taken...is right off the road - the MAIN road and the public and CO are EVERYWHERE!

But..come duck season...and you get off the main road...there are definitely some birds to be had!!!!

You ever get this way...gimme a ring...if season is in down that way...we'll give'r a shot!!!

Are ya'll seeing many neck collars up that way? I've seen about 10-15 so far this spring. They are not far from me here in Cottage Grove. Philly and I have gotten some property near where they are seen. Think about it brother! Come down this way, we could put you on them, if they are still around! Nest time I'm out there, I'll remember the camera :wink:

Dude that is sooo sweet!!!! I shot my first duck w/***elry this year, and it was sportin the double blingage.....My buddy spent the next week "band huntin" not duck huntin. I guess bands are pretty rare around here, cause we I've heard there aren't lots of banding projects out here. My bird was banded in oregon, so hopefully they're still banding em over that way!!!

If you guys are plannin to hunt for the hardware down my way this fall ....don't forget about takin the scout!! :D oh...and if I get to go....the camera will be used after the hunt cuz I'll be totin the scattergun! You pros can do the callin and me and PAgooser Brad will do the gunnin! Sounds fair right?
