i know. i have actually seen a group of guys hop out of their trucks, in south dakota, 4 out of the 5 grabbed rifles, opened up on a flock of snows, jumped back in their truck, and took off.

also, there have been reports of guys running into a nesting area, grabbing the geese, and taking the bands off the birds.

nobody likes it, but guys will still do it. sad thought

I shot my first band and two other bands in the same week...My first band was a goose and he came in with 5 others and swam into our spread. So I picked out the biggest one when I shot him the other five didnt move...So my brother shot another one...they didnt move...my uncle needed one more bird and we would have been done but he wanted to stay a little bit longer (we had been in the blind for about an hour). I went out and got mine and it had a band and my dad had to get the boat to get my brothers and it had a band....my uncle is still kicking himself. I shot my next goose band two days later. Then came my first duck band on christmas day two days after my second band. Nothin better than a greenhead with a little bling for a christmas present :D :D :D

i have 4 bands, all shot last year. 3 jack miner duck bands (all shot on one hunt, actually doubled on a pair that came in, both had bands. It was just me and my buddy hunting that morning and we shot 5 miner bands all together).. then i shot a federal goose band out of a flock and sailed him and walked two fields for it... didnt walk back to the pit, i ran lol.. our group got 11 bands all together this year. ( 8 miner ducks, 1 miner goose, 1 federal black duck, and 1 federal goose)

ive hunted waterfowl for over 15 years and never killed a banded bird...however i am 4 species shy of killing at least 1 bird from all the major puddle duck species. I see alot of banded and collared birds in the spring when im taking pics, go figure...

I might as well keep this going. In my 8 years of hunting I have 6 bands. I have 5 off of geese and 1 off a wood duck drake. It has been awesome these pass seasons!
