Torsion Axels

Pretty Dumb question here, but what is a torsion axel on enclosed trailers? And should I get the ramp or Barn Doors.

A Torsion axle is an axle that lets the wheels act independently which provides a better absorption of road bumps. In most cases they provided the tailor with better tail ability because they distribute the weight better than a leaf system. I would recommend not buying a ramp door because they can get pretty banged up if you lay them down in a field that is uneven. But they do make it easier to load. Hope this helps!

Our ramp door works great, we painted it with some textured paint (fine sand added) so you don't slip. Corn stalks can cause damage on the door but if your kill'em who cares?

Barn doors. You can stuff the trailer and use one door to help hold the decoys in. And, when the snow freezes on the ramp.......could get interesting.

Torsion will give you more clearance under the trailer.

Torsion will give you more clearance under the trailer.all of the torsion axles i have seen has set lower than spring axles. any one else care to chime in?

Ramp doors...Then you don't have to pay another $100 for a nice set of ramps if you want to put an ATV in there to help you out. Plus, if you have bad knees you don't have to lift your legs everytime you wan't to get in.

like said about the torsion axle....I have one, and it works VERY well! it is the better choice for rough terrain! I have a ramp on my trailer, and i LOVE it ! No more stepping up and down to get gear!. I have had my trailer through EVERYTHING and have never had a problem with the ramp! The only thing i dislike about the ramp, is the corn stalks will dent it if you are not careful! But as like said if you killin em, who cares! It is bound to happen sooner or later! That is also why i tell ppl after they buy a new trailer to throw a handful of rocks at the front of it, rather than get pissed when it gets dented from gravel roads like i did! lol
