I just got my comp insert a few days ago and i was wonderin did you guys tune it for comp. I find it that it takes alot more air to blow. i think that it is because the bore is so wide. who do i fix this?

Hunter Brown...
yes, the competition insert takes more air to blow...not really anything you can do about it.... you can tune the call lighter but it takes away from the goosey sound of the call and kind of gets mushy...practice with it and see if it gets more comfortable for you unless Kelly or Mark have a better idea...I'm just speaking from my own experience....

The competition inserts are made to blow harder because the harder blowing the call is...the louder and cleaner it sounds. That's what the judges want in competition. LOUD AND CLEAR!! I suggest blowing it until your head explodes...you have to build up your air and lip strength..but when you do..you're gonna sound awesome. I know I preach it..but I don't practice it...my Strait Street comp duck probably collects more dust then it should!!

You ever see those guys blow up one of those hot water bottles? lol Sorry that is what I think of every time I try to explain how hard a comp tuned call is to blow. It also helps with the excitement factor as well.
