Hey guys i am going to be doing some speck hunting this next fall and i am in need of getting a speck call. Besides the Foiles speck call what would you guys suggest? The reason why i really dont want the Foiles Speck is because i am not sure how well we are going to get into them and i didnt want to spend 150 on a new call. Just let me know what you would suggest and if you think it would be better to just throw in the extra 70 and buy the one from foiles let me know why.
Thanks

Quackhead makes a Snow/Speck call. HS does too. i personally like the Quackhead one better.

You can make the Tundra Saver sound pretty darn close to a speck

really i did not know that. would it basically do the same thing or do you have to change the reed a little.

My point exactly. Quick thinkin' Scott. I would buy a Tundra Saver for now if I were you. My two cents.

I haven't tried it in the field yet but haven't done anything to the reed. You can buy the Speck call other wise and make it sound pretty goog as a snow call to. I have both calls and to me you can make them go either way in my opinon. When you get to WW4 give them a try as what the call is then try changing the sound of it.

Get a Sean Mann Spec. It's the easiest blowing spec call i've blown. Plus they sound great and are loud enough to get thier attention from a distance. I use mine all year, It's a great call, you wont be disapointed.

That's the one bud! It's an amazing call, almost zero back pressure and great tone/range.
The Strait Spec is a good call but it takes a lot of backpressure to run and it's expensive compared to what you get out of the others. That's just my thought's though.

Choke down on a Tundra Saver and blow 2 quick bursts of air into the call and it sounds alot like a speck call.
