do any of you boys use the poly chocks. if you dont know what they are you can quickly and easily adjust the chock from extra full to cylinder. just wondering what you guys think about them. i shoot a briley myself.

My first shotgun my dad bought me when I was a kid was a 20 gauge Mossberg with polychokes. I still have the gun and occasionaly use it for upland hunting. I like the concept, but not sure that you get as good a pattern as you do with tubes. plus they are kind of a pain to clean, with the barrel slits collecting all the powder residue.

I have one on my old model 12 and it works well, on my new shotguns I use patternmaster tubes really like them. I will give poly choke the thumbs up because they are a sponsor of Wisconsin Waterfowl association, on that note patternmaster also sent us a free choke for our banquet.

Are you guys talking about the polychoke choke tube, the polychoke I have is a permanent fixture on the barrel of my gun.

The problem with poly chokes was that the constriction varied on installation. A modified could vary well be anywhere from the IC to IM range. It was a mess and one never knew what constriction they truly had.
At least that was the case. With todays choke tubes and the ease of switching them out I wouldn't ever go back to a poly.
