I am planning on putting a several pits in some flooded corn ponds. Does anyone know what the one at the D&J SM Duck Club was set up? What was it made of, any trouble with water in the pit, and how far above the water level it is? Thanks for any help.

Masten,

Are you leaving the pits out year round?

Is there an electric source close?

How big are you looking at going?

I know that septic tanks and storage bins (freight bins) are very popular choices. Most of the ones that I have seen use a false floor so the water seepage should there be any is under it. then they use sump bumps (or bilge pumps) to pull the water.

Our pits are about 8-10 inches above water level when the fields are flooded. As for water in them, our pits don't have lids so before season we take the Argo out there with a pump and pump out hte pits. During the season you may get a little more water built up in them but it's no more then an inch or two.

Has anyone tried the fiberglass blinds the guy sells online? I think it is from the River Front Hunt Club.

All I know about them is that they are expensive.
