I just got my benelli and I was unable to shoot trap loads or any light game loads. It didnt eject or it did but a new shell wouldnt go in. I dont feel like wasting money on heavy game loads for doves and rabbits because thats just slaughter. Any recommenations??????

Shoot a couple boxes of 3 1/2" through it. That will loosen it up a bit. My new SBE2 didnt have that problem and shot trap loads right out of the box.

When they ship the guns some still have this greasey coating on all the mecanical parts, try cleaning it and also shoot some heavy loads through it.

Clean all the shipping grease off all the parts. Put a SMALL SMALL amount of oil on moving parts. I have to stress on the SMALL amount of oil. Make sure you have the gun shouldered tight also. I know a few people that figured out they weren't shouldering the gun tight enough. Not framiliar with the running 3 1/2's through it first. I haven't seen anyone do that to "loosen" up the gun.
My 2 cents

Thats what I did with my Beretta and cycled light loads fine after that.

even Benelli recommends that you send a box or 2 of heavy loads through you gun to break in the spring. Do like the others said as well give it a good wipe down and get all the factory gunk out and lightly oil the moving parts. You can also do a search in the benelli forms for some info. If not buy yourself a surecycle spring or something like that. My Sbe II had no problems with any load streight out of the box. Hope it works out for you!

What Benelli did you buy? I have a 3 year old SBE in synthetic and love that thing. After you shoot it some, it becomes the LIGHTEST bolt you'll every find on a shotgun in my opinion. I havent cleaned my gun since before snow goose season and have shot at least 4 or 5 cases of light loads out of it shooting skeet with the "IOWA KILLIN CREW" and havent had a jam yet!! I do think I need to clean it though because my choke tube has a black coting on it from being shot so much. O well, I dont need that tube for webbed footed critters anyway. :D Briley light modified and new :D Pattern Master for the killing duties.

I have the SBE I and it doesnt seem the lightest to me. I can only shoot heavy game loads that will allow it to eject. it either throws it out and closes before cocking or it just doesnt eject. Have any more ideas to help me wit.

Right in the manual it tells you to run two to three or more boxes of heavy game loads (meaning 3.5" goose or turkey loads) through it to "break it in." I have an SBE II and once I ran two boxes of goose loads through it...my gun will now eject the lightest trap loads no problem!!!
SGTSLTR pointed another good thing to watch...if the gun is not shouldered tightly, the inertia system has nothing to work "against" to cycle the gun. You have to have a little resistance into the gun so that the inertia system will cycle.
Just my observations....

Another option is to put a LIGHT coat of lapping compund on the rails where all the blot parts and anywhere the action rides on. Fire a few, like 4 light loads. Clean ALL the compund off and oil those parts and you should be good to go.
Down the road it will work effortlessly with aything. Might even make your gun cycle faster.

The benli inertia system is spring oporated and you can't shoot any thing lighter than 1 1/8 shot outher wise it will not eject the shell.

My Gold 3 1/2" shoots it all also. Basically the same gun as the SX2.

My SBE will not shoot anything lighter than a 1 1/8 oz load. It will not cycle 7/8 or 1 oz loads. It is not a slaughter to shoot doves with 1 1/8 oz 7.5 or 8.
